AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRY STANDARDS

INDUSTRY’S PARTNER IN SHAPING THE WORKFORCE OF THE FUTURE.

Australian Industry Standards (AIS) is an independent, not-for-profit Skills Service Organisation (SSO) that develops skills standards across a range of Australian industries, including the energy sector.
AIS works under the direction of 11 Industry Reference Committees (IRC) that represent the following sectors: energy, aviation, transport and logistics, maritime, rail, water, public safety, police, fire, defence and corrections. Together, these industries keep Australia productive, powered and secure.
We support these important industry sectors using in-house capability in industry engagement, research, technical writing, quality assurance, and project management, to develop Training Packages and provide other support services.
We have a deep-seated passion for skills development and its power to set our industries apart from their international competitors and to transform the lives of individuals.
Rapid changes in technology and the new wave of disrupters will have a significant impact on the skills required by workers in the energy sector.
The four energy IRCs which cover electrotechnology, gas, electricity generation and transmission, work closely with AIS to ensure priority skill needs are identified and Training Package products are developed to shape the energy workforce of the future.
At AIS, our focus is on helping industry to develop world-class qualifications for their workforce. It is the highly-skilled workers produced in the VET system who will take Australia forward into a prosperous future, using their expertise to advance their industries.
