Tony Wingrove, ARMIT (Metallurgy), has more than 50 years participation in manufacturing with the emphasis on production of materials for the electricity sector. Tony is formerly Group General Manager of the Pacific Dunlop Cables Group including Olex Australia and Olex NZ, Mr Wingrove was instrumental in the introduction and development of the Australian manufacture of EHV underground cable commencing with 66kV in 1987 and leading to 220kV in 1990. He was the leader of the team which supplied and installed an urgently needed 110 kV underground line in Auckland during 1998. In 2004/6 he was the Australian representative for Pirelli Cables during the construction of the Basslink Submarine Link between Tasmania and Victoria.
Following the identification of the technology underlying the Dulhunty Titan pole, he has served as CEO to develop the new processes and materials which make the Titan pole so valuable to the electricity sector.
