EECON 2017 features 3 parallel streams:
- Stream 1: Quantifying the state of play
- Stream 2: Seizing the opportunities
- Stream 3: Technical excellence
What will EECON 2017 look like?
EECON is proudly a technical conference, representing each facet of the electric energy system across both academia and industry – but that doesn’t mean we won’t think big picture.
Our plenary keynote panel features leading industry luminaries, including Audrey Zibelman, CEO of AEMO. These speakers all bring a unique perspective on the industry, including evolving markets and grid operation, disruptive technology, and the important role that regulation has in moving forward.
Our keynote address will set the scene for the state of play, before diving into the key technical areas that make up each facet of the power system:
- Stream 1 examines some of the best case studies across Australia
- Stream 2 explores the direction that industry should take, and;
- Stream 3 educates and strengthens the understanding of the industry.
With three streams for no more than 250 delegates, each delegate will have the opportunity to have their voice heard.
The stream design also embodies the theme of the conference: Collaboration and Innovation. As a volunteer organising committee, we have partnered with some of the leading industry bodies, including the Clean Energy Council, the Australian Power Institute, and Engineers Australia’s Electrical College Board to bring together the most influential industry leaders. Delegates can expect that EECON17 will offer the most informative, challenging, and poignant discussion.
Interspersed with this, delegates have the opportunity to network and recognise industry contributors at our inaugural Energy Excellence Gala Dinner, and explore diversity in the energy industry at our Energy Breakfast. Post-conference, delegates can join in a comprehensive site visit program where you can gain insights into critical Victorian energy infrastructure.
If you wish to present in the Technical Excellence stream, please review and complete the sponsorship document to secure your space. There will only be one presentation per topic, so secure your space early.
